I love the Fife coast especially the small, historic fishing villages the run along the East Neuk. Pittenweem is one such village that still has a working fishing fleet. One of my favourite views in the village is by the harbour side where a gap between two houses creates a look out to the sea beyond. The high, vertical walls of the houses, one painted pink, frame a scene of water and sky, and the narrow inlet gurgles to the sound of the sea’s encroachment. It is a scene of constant shift between two stoic sentinels.
