Time and Tide

The beautiful inlet of North Landing at Flamborough Head is home caves, rock arches, and beautifully clear water thanks to the chalk that makes up the coastal landscape of the area. It is also home to two old cobble boats that run tourist and fishing trips. Depending on the tide such trips embark from the beach or further out on a makeshift jetty that is reached via a tenuous path over seaweed strewn boulders that lay beneath the chalk cliffs.

This painting shows one of the boats readying itself to take on passengers for a trip around the headland at low tide.
