A number of books were published to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the the Spanish Armada. I was lucky enough to be commissioned by Bantham Press to illustrate one of these books.

Written by Duff Hart Davis, it was probably the most accurate books produced for the anniversary. The National Maritime Museum in Greenwich undertook extensive research into the design of the new ships of the English navy, whose radical ‘racing’ shape was one of the major reasons for the defeat of the Spanish.
