A Study In Silver

Another natural wonder in the Dales not far from us is Brimham Rocks, an outcrop of Millstone Grit that have been sculpted over the millenia into weird and wonderful shaped rocks, many of which balance precariously on top of each other. Silver birch eke out an existence in the small patches of earth between the rocks whereas lichen abound, speading their silvery patches across the course rock surface. I love painting textures and this was a real treat for me.
