A Winter’s Lake looks across the frozen water at Potteric Carr, on the outskirts of Doncaster, in South Yorkshire. It is the main visitor centre for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Along with the lakes, the area also contains woods and open ground, crisscrossed by a network of pathways that are a joy to walk. It is a haven for wildlife, especially birds.
This painting was created after a very cold winter’s day visit to the Centre, when a heavy mist hung over the landscape, blanketting it all in soft muted tones.
This artwork was created in collaboration with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and 10% of the cost of each print and the original artwork goes to help support the work of the Trust.
The original artwork measures 71cm x 52cm, the limited edition prints 60cm x 40.5cm, and the standard print 46.5cm x 30.5cm
