Flow 2

£45.00£80.00

‘Flow 2’s’ is the second in a small series of my ‘Flow’ paintings based on the Japanese Garden at Cowden, in Scotland. The garden’s Japanese name is Sha Raku En, or ‘a place of pleasure and delight‘. Two bridges in the middle of the beautiful pond there lead to a central island which symbolises the legendary mountain, Horai-zen, the embodiment of a perfect world. In Japanese culture, the ‘sorihashi’ arched bridge, at the bottom of the painting, represents our life‘s journey.

The painting’s title comes from the seven flowing lines in the artwork, which travel across the water in the style of a Zen garden’s meditative patterns of raked gravel. The number 7 also holds great symbolic meaning in life, representing wholeness and perfection, and communicating a sense of completeness.

This print makes a beautiful, and thoughtful present, especially for anyone celebrating a significant birthday, packed as it is with its elements about life’s journey.

Available in two sizes of print. A limited Edition print measuring 44cm x 61cm, and a standard print at 33cm x 47cm. Prices include free postage in the UK.

Together with the original Flow available elsewhere in my shop, both prints make a great pair to hang on the wall.
