Sea View 1

I love the Fife coast especially the small, historic fishing villages the run along the East Neuk. Pittenweem is one such village that still has a working fishing fleet. One of my favourite views in the village is by the harbour side where a gap between two houses creates a look out to the sea beyond. The high, vertical walls of the houses, one painted pink, frame a scene of water and sky, and the narrow inlet gurgles to the sound of the sea’s encroachment. It is a scene of constant shift between two stoic sentinels

This is the first of a number of sea views that I am painting to capture the many moods and historical atmosphere of the Fife coast around the East Neuk and up to St Andrews, and apart from the original art, is available in both a limited, and open editions.

The original artwork measures 53cm x 73cm. The Limited Edition print measures 43cm x 63cm, and the standard print 27cm x 43cm
